Relational Practice in Stratford-upon-Avon

After our launch, the team at Welcombe Radio in Stratford-upon-Avon very kindly invited us to visit them, discuss Relational Practice, and learn about the services they have on offer.

Neels and Sam were very pleased to represent the Movement and had a very enjoyable day learning about Stratford's thriving community, from visiting Lifeways to touring the Fred Winter Centre, and even enjoyed being interviewed about Relational Practice on Welcombe Radio.

Although the Relational Practice Movement has its roots in mental health, and is growing across our public services, we really believe that the principles of Relational Practice are applicable anywhere. Every transaction, every conversation, every interaction comes back to a relationship that takes two to form. As such, although Welcombe Radio is not a mental health or public sector service, we were delighted to visit and hear about the importance of relationships in a completely different context - and yet, with similar themes such as the need for respect, equality, and growth. The work that the team are doing to create an entire community built on strong, authentic relationships is incredibly powerful. We came away feeling that Relational Practice really is fundamental in all walks of life!

Thank you again to the team who gave us a glimpse of the real Stratford, underneath the tourist trappings, by offering such a warm welcome into their community. They are doing absolutely incredible work promoting Relational Practice throughout Stratford!
